Elected Official Icebreaker

The Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce will host an Elected Official Ice break from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Brown & Brown Insurance, 300 N. Beach St., Daytona Beach.

The cost is $25 for chamber members and $35 for non-members. Elected officials and their team members will be admitted for $25 each.

TSA PreCheck sign up

Travelers can sign up for TSA PreCheck at Daytona Beach International Airport from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, May 23-27, in the baggage claim area.

PreCheck allows flyers to experience a more efficient airport screening process by leaving on shoes, light jackets and belts, and leaving laptops and compliant liquids in carry-on bags.

Applicants will be fingerprinted for a background check. The $85 application fee can be paid by credit card, money order, company check or certified/cashier’s check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted. Applicants are encouraged to pre-register at identogo.com/precheck.

Hotel manager promoted

And rose Bell has been appointed general manager and regional director of operations for Hospitality Ventures Management Group in Daytona Beach

Mr. Bell has been lead general manager since 2021 for the Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach and the Delta Hotel by Marriott Daytona Beach Oceanfront. Previously he was with the Double Tree Suites by Hilton Hotel Melbourne Beach Oceanfront and was rooms division manager at The Shores Resort & Spa in Daytona Beach Shores

Mr. Bell earned a master’s degree in business administration from Kaiser University and a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from Bethune-Cook man University.

He will continue as general manager of the Hard Rock Hotel and will oversee other HVMG resort and lifestyle properties.

Business Hall of Fame

The Inaugural Quad-City Business Hall of Fame awards ceremony will be Saturday, May 21, at the West Volusia Dream Center, 2479 S. Volusia Ave., Orange City.

The awards are for businesses in DeLand, Orange City, DeBary, Deltona, Lake Helen and DeLeon Springs. The award ceremony will be open to the public. The businesses registered for the event will be able to showcase their innovative ideas, products and services. There is a $25 registration fee.

The West Volusia Regional Chamber of Commerce will present the fourth annual First Responder Valor Awards luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at The Center at Deltona, 1640 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd.

The luncheon honors those in public safety by presenting Valor Awards to the men and women who have given the most to protect and serve the citizens of West Volusia County.
